Does anyone know if there are specific visiting dates for prospective honors students? Or do honors prospects go to the same Red Carpet Days as everyone else?

Deferred Final Decision Notice

My deferral notice said I’d hear back “Mid-March” with a final decision. Just wondering if there has been a trend in the past with when these final decisions are made? I know University of Michigan traditionally does Fridays so I was wondering if IU has a similar trend.

Freshman Parking at Dorm

Hi all Housing apps just came out I would like to prioritize Central but want to visit it first. At the same time I want to get parking at the dorm (“D pass”). These go early, apparently, but does anyone know how early? The earliest I can visit the dorms is this weekend or next, then I can complete the app, would that be early enough for a parking pass?

Should I attend Direct Admit Weekend for Kelley?

I was accepted today into Kelley via petition, and I want to go to Direct Admit Weekend, yet I'm wondering if it is worth it... I'm from New England, so I have never been to IU, and my family was planning on touring the schools that I got into during my spring break, yet judging from other posts, the Direct Admit Weekend sounds exciting, and I'm wondering if it would be better to go to that rather than tour in April. What are your thoughts? If so, any recommendations for lodging?

A R Metz Scholarship

My student center was updated this afternoon and I was awarded this scholarship for $7000 for the 2019 academic year. I'm assuming it's from the SSA but I'm not sure if it's from Hutton or the College of Arts & Sciences. Does anyone know what this scholarship is? And would it equate to $28,000 for all four years?

IU Bloomington vs. Purdue in accounting

I'm interested in accounting. I got accepted into both IU Bloomington and Purdue. I'm torn between these two. I think IU Bloomington is more focused on the international aspect of business and definitely has a better ranking in business, but are there benefits to Purdue's business school that aren't obvious? Thank you!

IU Kelley VS UDel Lerner

Hello guys! So I was admitted to IU as a psychology major but I think I want to do business. I am in University Division my first year since I did not get DA into CAS obviously. Now my issue is that I live in New York. I visited Indiana and liked it a lot. But after researching all about standard admission, I heard that many of the classes are difficult (especially finite math) and it could be very challenging. I think if I try really hard and work my booty off I can get in. However, I also wanted to rush and live a little my first year of college. On the other hand, I am also a psychology major at University of Delaware. I was thinking to double major in psychology and business there since it is close by, a little easier than IU, and they gave me $28k for 4 years (it is not a lot but in the long run I guess it is good.) It is just that even with double majoring at UDel, I would have to take winter or summer courses which I kind of don't want to do (although I could drop psych or business if I like one more than the other) Regardless, lets us say that I did not qualify standard admission to Kelley, I would go into neuroscience and minor in psychology (I would then go to law school) I just don't know. I am very confused. I do not want to regret the fact of not being a student at Kelley. What would you do if you were in my shoes? I could get the same degree of psych/neuro at Delaware and get the same results. ugh!

Kelley Non-direct admissions

So I just got accepted to IU for fall 2018, but not Kelley direct or petition. How hard is it to get into Kelley after first year? Do most people get into after 1 or 2 years? Which classes should I take in freshman year to pass the requirements? And how should the schedule look like?

Non-Direct Kelley

Hello all! So I am currently a psychology major but I am in Undergraduate Divsion since i was not a DA anywhere. I am wanting to switch to business. I know that the requirements for Kelley as a Non-DA are super hard and it requires you to sacrifice a lot. I would miss out on joining a club sports team or being in a sorority. But at the end of the day, education matters more. I was just wondering what classes are the easiest to take my first year? I was thinking to take finite math and accounting100 at my local community college or even online on Ivy Tech Bloomington. But regardless, would the grade or just the credit transfer over? If anybody can give me a schedule of what classes I should follow for the best success, I would truly appreciate it. I also got a 4 on AP Psych so will I get credit for that? Maybe it will help boost my gpa?

Kelley Direct Admission

So I applied for direct admit to Kelley School of Business, but today when I received my acceptance letter to IU, it stated that I was University Div Pre-Business. From what I've seen, this means that I'm not a direct admit to Kelley. Here, I am a little confused, because I thought that if you met all the requirements for direct admit, you get accepted. I currently have: - 3.93 weighted on a 4.0 scale - 34 ACT - Many Honors & AP classes - National honor society, Debate, Paid job, etc. Am I wrong about Kelley doing automatic direct admit or do I have to wait for a separate acceptance letter?

Tulane vs IU help please!

So time is running out and my daughter is having a difficult time deciding between these two schools. She is planning to study biology on a pre-med or pre-physical therapy track. We have visited both. IU Pros: In-state with scholarship, so basically will pay only room/board. Accepted into Hutton Honors. Great school spirit. Big Ten sports. Quintessential college town. Closer to home. IU Cons: Lower overall rankings vs. Tulane. Not as prestigious. Bit of a bubble for suburban Indy crowd. Feels like she worked so much harder than others accepted. Sorority rush is brutal. Tulane Pros: $27k scholarship (1/2 tuition). More prestige. Higher rank. Smaller class sizes. New Orleans. Kids with higher stars similar to her. More chill sorority rush. Tulane Cons: $27k more annually, $104k over 4 years (although we can afford it). Less school spirit. No big time sporting events. She was concerned during our visit that she wouldn't fit in -- 1/2 nerdy a capella/quidditch crowd and 1/2 rich snobby crowd. Appreciate any/all comments. Thanks in advance.

Life in Housing at Briscoe?

Hi guys – I just sent in my housing app for Indiana today. I realize housing opened up in February, but was rejected by almost all of my reach and match schools, so I've waited until now. I did some research and am aware of how essentially every freshman requests to live in the Northwest neighborhood. I missed Kelley DA by 10 points on my SAT (1380) but will be studying business at IU. I want to live in Briscoe and am willing to pay for enhanced and also requested to be in a single so I could have my own space. I'm extroverted, but heard McNutt is impossible to study in and can get kind of gross. If anyone could share what life is like in Briscoe as a freshman, or knows how life is like in a single/making friends wise and being social there? Also, how likely is it that I get into live at Briscoe? I'm hoping it is still fairly social, but that I will also be able to get work done when I close my door. Any help GREATLY APPRECIATED!
